The Killing Fields » Devlog
Revised and expanded version of the rules, featuring the "advanced" game. The new rules incorporate additional rules for formations, maneuvers and combat in massed battle.
I will also be adding some more videos demonstrating use of the Valor table and Melee sequence.

Special Rules
Long Weapons:
- Spears, Pikes, Halberds, etc are wielded in ranks. A unit armed with long weapons may roll ‘to-hit’ for every figure in the first two ranks of the unit. The opposing unit will only roll a number of dice (or sets of dice) equal to the number of figures in the first rank which are in base contact.
- If both sides have long weapons, then both sides roll for the first two ranks
- Light or Medium Cavalry must make a Command/Morale Check to charge the front of a unit armed with spears or halberds. All cavalries must make a Command/Morale Check to charge a unit of pikemen.
- Units with Long Weapons versus cavalry do not subtract casualties before rolling ‘to-hit’ dice.
Cavalry
- A Medium or Heavy Cavalry Charge reduces their opponent’s ability to fight back.
- Casualties from a Med/Hvy Cavalry charge versus any Infantry (except those armed with Long Weapons) or Light Cavalry are applied before the defending unit rolls their attacks.
There are a few small sections to be detailed, but I am waiting for some feedback from play testers (HEY that could be YOU!)
